Ever wondered how you create your coaching game plan & offer so you can start serving clients in your business?

In this article, let’s break down what a coaching game plan is, how to create your plan, & what kind of offer you should create.

What Is A Coaching Game Plan?

A coaching game plan is your strategic process of how you will help your clients achieve the results they desire.

Before, we can create your coaching game plan we first have to assess the type of coach that you are.

Which Type Of Coach Are You?

There are two types of coaches.

Both types help their clients to a specific result but the process of how they do it differs.

Two Types of Coaches

  1. Solution-focused Personal Coach
  2. Skills Coach

Solution-focused Personal Coach

The solution-focused personal coach uses questions to help the client pull answers from within themself to create the result they desire.

For example, a life Coach that helps women to create more happiness.

This coach would work personally with the client asking questions to draw out the strategies the client wants to use to create more happiness.

The coach then could hold the client accountable for taking those actions.

Skills Coach

The skills coach is more of a teacher who assists their clients with learning how to become more efficient at a skill to achieve the result desired.

For example, a basketball coach that helps basketball players hit more shots.

This coach works with all their clients teaching them the exact same method.

This is why it’s easy for these types of coaches to help multiple people at one time because it’s not personal.

How To Create Your Coaching Game Plan

Once you have identified which type of coach you are, then, you can create your coaching game plan.

To create this game plan there are a couple of questions you have to answer.

  1. What is the process I will be using to help my clients achieve the result they desire? (from above)
  2. In what capacity will I work with my clients when it comes to an offer? (next section)

After you have created your game plan then you can create the offer.

Types Of Coaching Offers

There are three main forms of offers for coaches.

  1. 1:1 Coaching – Work with the client privately.
  2. Course – Curriculum of steps or resources.
  3. Program – Curriculum along with private or group coaching.

Which Offer Should You Create

When it comes to creating your first offer you should consider which type of coach you are.

Solution-focused Personal Coach Offers

Typically it is in the best interest of a new solution-focused personal coach to start with a 1:1 offer.

This will allow the coach to take notes & record the coaching sessions.

Once, the coach has helped several clients they can review the notes & recordings to look for specific patterns that are repetitive with their clients.

In doing so they can distinguish the questions & resources that are used or recommended over & over again repetitively.

This then gives the coach the ability to easily build a course of workbooks & resources to automate the workload & free up their time.

So the type of offer a solution-focused personal coach uses is based more on time efficiency for the coach & client.

Skills Coach Offers

A skills coach, however, can typically start with any offer they choose.

The important thing here is the coach understands the specific methodology of the steps that their clients physically need to take in order to get from point A-Z.

After that, just simply answer,

  1. Which type of coaching offer am I the most comfortable delivering?
  2. Which offer makes the most logical sense for my clients with how they can financially invest & get the coaching support needed?

How To Create Your Coaching Offers

For 1:1 Coaching it’s quite simple & can be done in a couple of steps.

STEP ONE:

Distinguish the time frame.

For startup coaches, it often makes more sense to do a monthly coaching package vs a one-call offer.

Once you know how long it typically takes for your clients to get the specific result then you can adjust the package.

STEP TWO:

Distinguish the frequency.

How often will you need to meet with your client?

Is it once a week, twice a week (once for coaching & once for accountability), or every other week?

Creating A Coaching Course Or Program Offer

Creating a course or program offer can also be done in a couple of steps but is a little more complex.

When creating a coaching course or program, the main thing is to create an outline of the journey your clients have take.

This then establishes the Modules & Lessons for the curriculum of the course or program.

STEP ONE:

Define the steps your clients have to take in order.

STEP TWO:

Create an outline to define your modules & lesson material for the curriculum of the course or program.

STEP THREE:

If creating a coaching program offer, you will want to also decide & define how you will be coaching your client in addition to the course curriculum.

You can ask yourself, “Am I going to coach in a group setting or privately?”

Once you have this information, refer back to the 1:1 coaching offer section above to determine the remainder of the necessary information for creating your offer.
